Women Entreprenuers of the World - Nevada Small Business Women Supporting Non-Profits

There are many women's networking groups in Las Vegas.  I am a proud member of Women Entreprenuers of the World.  WE of the World is an amazing group of women who are small business owners who actively support non profit organizations.

WE's primary goal is to raise money for scholarships and charities, educate and enrich members, and provide support to the next generation of women entrepreneurs.

Members are encouraged to bring a raffle prize and donations for Olive Crest and HELP Southern Nevada to each monthly lunch. Proceeds of the raffle go to a charitable contribution and scholarship fund. Members bring all things baby ie. diapers, wipes, clothes, food etc for Olive Crest and clean out their closets to provide displaced women with clothes, shoes and accessories to go on job interviews, etc through HELP.

This is yet another wonderful way that for profit business owners support non profit organizations.

Please share stories of other caring organizations with me.

Blessings, Heidi

A Great Example of How Businesses Support Non-Profits

Last night I volunteered at a Wine Walk to benefit New Vista Communities which is an amazing Las Vegas NPO that houses and empowers adults with disabilities.  This event was a perfect example of local businesses supporting a favorite cause to benefit everyone involved.

The event was at a beautiful outdoor shopping area (thank goodness for perfect weather last night) and I am very sure the attendees checked out some of the stores while they were there to taste the wine.  Great PR for the shopping area!

The wine was provided by a local distributer and the glasses were provided by and etched with the name of a local store that sells that wine.  Perfect! Now the attendees have new wines they want to buy and know just where to go to get them.

Does this bring to your mind any great pairings of local businesses and charities that you would like to share?

All the best, Heidi

Been Away for A While

I have been away from my blog for a while creating the systems and some wonderful ralationships to move Credit Cares forward.  There is so much to learn about the non-profit world.  I have a tremendous amount of respect for the people who take on the challenges of doing great work in the world.

All the best, Heidi

PS...I did get my website off the ground.  Please check out http://www.credit-cares.com/ and let me know what you think!

Project Shero

Last night I attended a wonderful fundraising dinner for Project Shero.  Project Shero was created by the lovely Eileen Oser and her "Title" Founder & CKH - Chief Kid at Heart says it all!  Talk about coming from the heart and being of service...this lady has it down!  What a warm wonderful spirit.  Project Shero is all about inspiring children in need with innovative programs to listen to their inner voices, believe in the power of their dreams and to become tomorrows heros and sheros!  If that doesn't change the world I don't know what will.  I am truly hoping that Project Shero will be one of the first partners with our new Electronic Commerce International venture Credit Cares (http://www.credit-cares.com/ coming soon!).  I am excited about the opportunity to reduce their processing costs and give their supporters a way to contribute to them with their own credit card processing.  Stay tuned and I will let you know how it goes!

Creating a Caring Business - Awesome business plan!

I have been attending a LOT of seminars recently.  I find they are great sources of inspiration and a great way to meet fellow entrepreneurs.  What I am finding more and more as I speak to my peers is that so many want to find a way to bring more heart to their business.  Many are searching for ways to blend their spiritual growth with their business growth.  Creating a Caring Business will address this central idea...coming from the heart and being of service while attracting and sharing wealth...an awesome business plan!

With this in mind I have decided to make this my business plan and create a division of Electronic Commerce International that will offer at cost processing to charitable organizations and the opportunity for their supporters to contribute to them by automatically giving them a percentage of their processing fees.  This new venture will be called ECI's Credit Cares.  Thank you to my wonderful friends Jim and Pennie Mead for the suggestion of Credit Cares.  Check back soon for the official launch of http://www.credit-cares.com/.
